Sony PetaSite is a completely scalable tape library suitable for almost any data storage requirement. When designing PetaSite, Sony focused on sustainable storage growth to deliver a system that provides cost effective expansion as your data volumes grow.

The entry-level S60 PetaSite delivers an infrastructure capable of storing over 170TB of data in a half a square meter of floor space. However, the pricing of the S60 reflects only its immediate storage capacity of just under 50TB. As storage demands increase, the S60 is quickly and non-disruptively upgradeable to the S100 (80TB) and S200 (170TB) models. In fact, the S60, S100 and S200 systems can accommodate between 2 and 12 high performance S-AIT and LTO drives.

For even more demanding data storage tasks, PetaSite S200 is capable of growing to a capacity of 2.4 Petabytes in a data centre friendly configuration and storage density of 400TB/m2 and up to 96 drives.

At the same time PetaSite is kind to the environment and your bank balance using approximately twenty times less power than an equivalent hard disk system*. It is also certified to run with a wide range of back-up and archive software solutions, seamlessly integrating into any business environment.

PetaSite meets business-critical enterprise requirements with high drive and robot reliability, high availability (through swappable modules) and extremely fast data transfer speed (with a choice of 2Gbit Fibre Channel or SCSI connectivity).

The PetaSite solution is also upgradeable to future drive generations - available approximately every two years - ensuring your business keeps well ahead of increasing data storage needs.
