Matthew Coombs was appointed Director of Professional Services in August 2006. He is responsible for driving the continued growth of the division and helping to position Sony Professional Solutions Europe as the leading solutions and services provider within the industry.
Matthew joined Sony in 1985, and has held senior positions in a number of divisions, including Finance, Sales & Marketing, Service & Support and most recently Professional Services. In his previous role as General Manager of Business Operations he was responsible for the successful implementation of Systems Projects by heading up the Project Management and engineering team, together with the Finance & Administration support team.
As Director of Professional Services, Matthew will be responsible for a team of around 90 staff across Europe, Middle East and Africa, 50 of who will be based at Sony European Headquarters in Basingstoke, UK.
Matthew grew up and studied in Colombia and Mexico before moving back to Europe. He is still a fluent Spanish speaker. A keen sports fan he has played Football, Cricket & Golf at club level. He is currently restoring his classic car – a 1960’s Triumph Vitesse.
Matthew holds a Batchelor of Arts in Latin American studies, and is a qualified Accountant.
